Céline Resort 2014 Collection

Posted on October 31st 2013 by
Remember that time back in June when all of the resort previews were being held all over New York City, images to-and-from flooding your time-lines on every outlet of social media, and you secretly wished you were at every single presentation and could stop time and fast forward to the next season so you could actually wear it all. It wasn’t until day ten when people were wondering where is Phoebe Philo’s collection for Céline

This time around, Philo deliberately decided that she would not allow preview attendees to photograph the latest collection and while the chosen ones who had the opportunity to see and touch the clothes in the flesh, that presentation was probably equivalent to rescheduling your Brazilian wax appointment after realizing you’ve waited longer than four weeks and it’s going to be extremely painful. It wasn’t until yesterday where I found myself perusing the Céline website, and the images of the Resort collection were willfully placed there all along.

November is typically when the Resort collections are available in stores for our purchasing pleasure, which only means we can finally see what Phoebe Philo’s Céline woman has been up to. And, according to the  look book she has been influenced by the Safari, not just any Safari, but the kind of Safari that makes you want to become a better sartorial woman. Now, we know that we’ll never look cooler than Daria Werbowy in Céline, but we can most certainly make an attempt with our Safari referenced khaki coats, blouses, and in the belts. Some of which are seen as single garments, but you already knew that one piece dressing has been and still is having a moment.

Moving forward, the color palette was neutral and Philo’s signature navy blue and sheer buttoned or unbuttoned fabrics didn’t go unnoticed. The over-sized silhouettes were tailored and structured with a hint of masculine femininity. The collection is minimal and easy to wear, almost as if it sprung from real life. The Céline woman has become more intriguing, maybe because we call all relate to her this time around.

The rest of the Céline Resort 2014 collection for your viewing pleasure.
