I’ve been cleaning out my closet for over a month now and let me tell you, its like searching for the perfect black blazer and getting a Brazilian wax; the longer you wait the results can be extremely painful. I managed to edit it down to the sartorial pieces that I will actually wear, which consists of mostly black and white, trousers, boyfriend jeans, and anything over-sized. The one item that seemed to be missing was, a black tailored blazer. In the midst of it all I discovered that, finding old things in our closets and making them new again is similar to buying new clothes; but its far more rewarding.
Blazers masquerading as jackets is my new favorite thing. I’m naturally covered in layers, and the weather as of late has been temperamental leaving me no choice but to pile them on. I brought this gently priced Prada tailored blazer and Reed Krakoff metallic leather laceless oxfords recently, the plaid shirt and jeans are archives from my closet that feel good as new. This look is more like a uniform, everything is always tailored and over-sized with a combination of a boyfriend jean paired with a pointed boot or bootie. I have the tendency to buy a variation of the same things, in the end I’m basically a walking parody of myself.
Prada blazer, Theory plaid button-down, H&M Paris collection t-shirt, Acne boyfriend jeans (similar), Reed Krakoff laceless oxfords (similar), Alexander Wang Diego bag, Super sunglasses.
