When it comes to solid-colored denim, dark denim has been the most desirable for many reasons, but its finally time to lighten up. Pale denim dominated the Resort runways and was executed in edgy, modern cuts, making the trend feel decidedly current, and seasonally appropriate. Case in point: Balmain never fails to deliver a collection that encompasses a strong, bold shouldered woman.
The key silhouettes were elongated blazers that fell to the hip paired with loose, pleated, and cuffed trousers. Oliver Rousteing experienced with denim on denim this time around and displayed pale pieces that look lived-in but not outdated, and let me tell you that it’s the true definition of an all-American classic chic look. A few months ago, I was on the hunt for a light pair of vintage high-waiste jeans and scored big at the Goodwill. As of late I’ve been ditching my dark denim and pairing all of my pale denim with, pretty much everything.
