Tom Ford has opened a new beauty counter within Saks Fifth Avenue Boston. Located on the first floor, the space carries the latest Tom Ford cosmetics such as skin care, signature fragrances, and the exclusive Private Blend Collection.

Bright and richly-toned, the Tom Ford Beauty retail environment is designed to have the feel of a spacious salon. The interior presents a world of ivory surfaces juxtaposed with Makassar Ebony wood; grey-tinted mirrors accentuated with polished chrome, and clean liner furnishings. This palette is warmed with touches of gold – a nod to the gold detail and branding on Tom Ford Beauty packaging – and illuminated throughout with radiant, white light. The mood is inviting, seductive and unmistakably Tom Ford.

The focal point is the Cosmetic Collections, housed in a freestanding chrome and ivory display case with graceful, curving lines and a hint of art deco elegance. The softly lit case features generously sized illuminated mirrors. This abundance of light reflects the Tom Ford Beauty philosophy of radiant and luminous skin.

the Chicest Degree joined Tom Ford for an afternoon of beauty and testing out a slew of products to share our experience with our sartorial make-up devotees. I’ll start off by mentioning that up until yesterday I never had the desire to wear makeup and to be completely honest I don’t even know how to apply foundation. Bare face and a bold lip is what I usually go for as far as my beauty routine is concerned.

We started off with the illuminating primer which felt amazing on and will make any bare face look polished and feel refreshed. If you have extremely dry skin and need moister in the t-zone area of your face, I highly suggest it. My fear of looking aged went away immediately after we added the traceless foundation to balance out my two toned skin. It felt light and enhanced my features while appearing as if I didn’t have any of it on in the first place. Continuing on with the minimalist theme, I discovered the best brow sculpting pen, my eye brows are bushy and need a little shaping to them. The brow sculpting pen made my brows look more polished which I appreciated greatly. We then added little to no eyeshadow and cheek powder to compliment the lip color ‘Crimson Noir‘ – a very, very, chic red. Good lipstick is hard to find and I found the color and everything I ever wanted in a lipstick at Tom Ford.

Highlights from our beauty experience and our favorite products include Ford’s beloved lipstick, with an essential oil-rich formula, highly pigmented colors selected by the designer himself. Perfectly packaged brow sculptor, boasting a creamy formula with a beveled calligraphy tip, brush on the opposite end, and interior sharpener. Also the illuminating primer that gives the skin all of the moister it needs while providing a natural glow to brighten pale skin. Lastly the nail lacquer preferably the ‘Bitter Bitch‘ and on the fragrance side from the Private Blend Collection – complex artisan scents including Café Rose, Neroli Portofino, and our absolute favorite of them all Jasmin Rose

Here’s the quintessential Tom Ford Beauty edit for the modern minimalist who appreciates little to no makeup but likes to look put together in ten minutes or less, because you’re more focused on your outfit of course – this one is for you.
