To me, the mule is the most exquisite shoe despite its sultry reputation, for spring 2014 designers gave the backless shoe a more modern and ladylike makeover. It’s this upcoming seasons must-have shoe and they are the perfect accompaniment to a minimalist ensemble, sartorially speaking. This is a slight introduction into what the go to shoe in my closet will be, ever since I have had my eye on the Alexander Wang ‘masha’ sandals in truffle suede for quite sometime now to slip them on with a pair of boyfriend jeans to tailored mannish silhouettes and trousers of course.
For some, mules can be uncomfortable as they make a successive amounts of clicks and clacks when you’re walking or traipsing across the street, while your toes eventually get tired from trying to keep that mule on your feet. However, there’s no denying the fact that a pro-mule movement is afoot and has become a fashion crowd favorite. I personally can’t live without a lack of functionality in the shoe department, it makes for unforgettable street style moments.
