The Céline pre-fall collection is sartorial perfection in the eyes of the individual who has an appreciation for minimalism and mannish silhouettes, not to mention the effortless styling. Per usual, Phoebe Philo’s pre-fall collections always appear to be stronger than her main lines. With that being said this presentation featured an assortment of the casual oversize knitwear tied around the waist, slightly too long tailored trousers, midi-socks and pointed flats, heavy coats with a neutral color palette of white, navy, black and grey. We can’t forget about the jewelry, that added just a great amount of edge to the chic ensembles. Rounded hoop earrings and etno influenced necklaces and bracelets paired with the modern and androgynous pieces.
The list can go on and on of all the pieces that we would all like to covet, specifically the mannish trousers and the oversize knitwear. I’m sure the people working in the Zara factories are going to work long and hard to duplicate these exact looks come next fall. Philo, hits the nail on the head each and every time when it comes to putting together a collection that exudes the Parisian nonchalance. Every ensemble is wearable and it makes us wonder if the Céline woman has finally traded in her perfectly lined clothing, for easy tailored basics.
